I'm a divorced, widowed, mother of a 16 year old young woman.  I'm also married now, but to myself… no matter who i may or may not wake up with in the morning, I will every day of my life wake up happy to be with myself, to be myself… whether someone shares my bed or not.  THAT WAS A BIGGY! 

For my ceremony, I climbed the Himilayans to the head of the Ganges river, where it spews out from underneath the glaciers like a waterfall, but shooting up and out into the world!  I bathed in the icy waters that burned my skin, purifying not only myself, but as legend has it, my family for seven generations (when you make it to the headwaters!!)  well, a girl's gotta try, huh?

My divorce from my best friend was one of the hardest things I had to do to get there… and then there was the four month marriage to my second husband, a Venezuelan, treasure-hunting (no, for real, not just mine) sea captain that swept me and my family into his hurricane and helped me to rip apart the perfect life i had created that i was drowning in.  After those four months, when I realized it was not the marriage i had hoped i could have… we split up… and he was finally able to do what he had longed to do before he met me and thought i would be the cure for his life… I wasn't able to fill that role… so he was finally able to move on…

Watching my ex-husband try to resuscitate him was the breaking point for me… that next year was a blur… but thank God for my ex-husband and friends that helped me rebuild my life. 

In doing so, we decided to write a book about marriage and divorce coming from not a degreed doctorate, but from experience.  we share things most people would never admit to in our chapters, and our daughter has written a few of her own… it's from the family's perspective and we hope it helps other families out there that have gone through whatever it has been to get to a place where they are considering or going through or have divorced…  

 

With spirituality being a huge 'trend' in our society, it prompts many people to change the things they are most afraid of changing yet doing it in a way that allows for the highest good for all concerned.  One who is not on the path, consciously, will not feel they have a choice.  The Secret offers these philosophies that we actually utilize in our lives and write about in our story.
